Senior Licensing Manager.

Our client are a global entertainment business focused on brand licensing across multiple areas but with a particular focus on kid's entertainment. They are looking for a Senior Licensing Manager on the ground in Japan to grow their presence commerciallyand handle day to day licensing activities.

Responsibilities:
Identify and secure new licensing opportunities that align with established licensor strategies.
Address category or product gaps and achieve target revenue goals and growth objectives
Serve as the main commercial point of contact for licensees, handling day-to-day licensing activities, including managing contracts (new deals, amendments, and renewals), financials, account management, relationship development, product strategies, market trends, and retail placement insights.
Lead contract negotiations for new and renewal agreements, ensuring all terms align with company goals and business objectives, from negotiation through to contract finalization.
Collaborate across multiple brands, cultivating strong, trusted relationships with licensing partners, licensors, and internal and external stakeholders.
Foster an entrepreneurial and innovative atmosphere within your region, working closely with product development, marketing, finance, legal, and other departments.
Oversee complex accounts with multiple opportunities, ensuring accurate forecasts and budgets while acting as the primary customer contact.
Address and resolve client challenges efficiently and professionally, ensuring a high level of service satisfaction.
Manage existing licensees to optimize revenue opportunities, conducting regular business reviews to ensure alignment with forecasts and budget expectations.
Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in Japanese and proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Experience in sales, problem-solving, and offering tailored solutions to meet client needs; experience in fashion, hardgoods, softlines, or marketing is preferred based on the territory.
Background in supporting clients within the licensing industry is a plus.
Strong networking, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organisational levels.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve KPIs.
Exceptional customer service and relationship management abilities.
Creative and innovative approach to management and sales.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Ability to travel as required for the role.
