Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as an integral member of the management team, the Finance Manager is responsible for the management and financial management of the organisation.
This position is charged with developing and implementing policies and procedures that maintain and improve the finance function.
Serve as the primary contact and manager of the organisation's outsourced services firm based in Singapore for accounting, payroll, and corporate secretarial needs. The outsourced firm will maintain the general ledger and be responsible for transnational accounting activities, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank
Manage the accuracy, productivity and timeliness of the outsourced services firm, including accounts receivable, invoice/billing, customer credits and collections accounts payable, cash disbursements, payroll, general & entity accounting
Manage the accounting employee based in China that processes certain transactions, and this activity would need to be reflected in the general ledger. Coordination and consolidation of the financial in China and Singapore (consolidation currently done via spreadsheet)
Manage any outside service providers used in the preparation of tax and statutory filings, including ensuring timely filing of any required tax and financial reporting, including payroll, income taxes, and any other statutory requirements Management of bank accounts, and ensuring proper recording of all bank transactions
Manage processing and payment of all vendor invoices, with appropriate authorisation, in a variety of potential currencies
Management of Accounts Receivable process to ensure timely preparation of invoices and collection of debts
Preparation and processing of accruals and prepayments to ensure proper accounting of all transactions
Ensure that all required GST, income tax, CPF, and other filings are completed within appropriate deadlines
Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing processes, controls, reconciliations, and checks as appropriate
Identify and report any required monthly GL entries for the purposes of preparing the financial statements, and reconciliation of bank accounts and Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
Prepare and issue timely monthly financial statements for staff, management and shareholders, including profit-and-loss by show, balance sheet and cash flow
Manage audit process, including preparing audit work schedules and reports to the auditor for the annual financial audit
In concert with the ED, prepare and execute the annual budget process and semi-annual forecasting process
Qualifications in Finance or Accounting required or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience in supervisory roles
Experience with financial statement preparation, online banking, general ledger management, and oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivables, and payroll
Experience working remotely
Communication: Must be able to fluently communicate both verbally and in writing using the English language. Other Asian Languages would be beneficial but not essential
Travel: Ability to travel regionally is preferred for this position. Ultimately, travel within Asia could take place take place 3-4 weeks of each year
Computer Literacy: Strong experience in computer systems, including general ledger software, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office solutions
