Data and Research Editor.

Our B2B media and events client with global exposure and a great culture are seeking a Data and Research Editor to play a key role in developing a rapidly expanding portfolio of data and benchmarking products, which are critical to our growth strategy.

In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with influential stakeholders across the financial services sector, Additionally, you will help shape the product offerings and content that are delivered to both our contributors and subscribers.

This position, based in Hong Kong, combines elements of research, networking, product design and management, and content strategy. As part of an established and influential financial publication, you will contribute to a portfolio that focuses on in-depth market coverage, investigative journalism, and quantitative finance research with significant industry impact. With a growing focus on data-driven stories, we are also expanding our proprietary datasets-sourced both publicly and through private contributions to our benchmarking services.

The role:

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the financial services sector, particularly senior risk managers at major banks and investment firms.
• Identify new contributors and approach potential industry contacts to strengthen the network.
• Actively refine and expand our content coverage by uncovering new opportunities for product enhancements aligned with broader editorial goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including developers, designers, and marketing.
• Gather and verify data for benchmarking products while addressing queries from subscribers and potential clients.
• Stay informed on industry trends and evolving needs within financial services firms to ensure our offerings remain relevant and valuable.

Requirements:

• Ideally, experience in a role involving research, product management, journalism, data or similar functions.
• Strong communication skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of the financial services industry.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience with online survey platforms is advantageous, as is familiarity with using AI tools to automate data collection and curation.
• Proficiency in Excel is a plus.
