Role: Project Manager (Trade Exhibitions)

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Salary range: up to 7,500,000 JPY per annum

Our client, a well established international Trade Fair organiser is seeking an experienced and passionate Trade Fair Project Manager to join their team in Tokyo, Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and closing of trade fair projects, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, exhibitors, and sponsors, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Event Logistics: Manage all logistical aspects of trade fairs, including venue selection, booth layout, transportation, and on-site operations.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote trade fairs, attract exhibitors, and maximize attendee engagement.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of coordinators and support staff, fostering a productive work environment.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing exceptional service.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the planning and execution of trade fairs.
  • Webinar Coordination: Plan, organize, and run webinars as part of trade fair promotion and engagement strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the MICE industry or 5 years of relevant or similar working experience
  • Strong background in the exhibition or service business
  • Native or business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, with strong skills in reading, writing, and sales presentation
  • TOEIC score of 800 or higher, or a similar level of English proficiency
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a fluid environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Webinar planning and execution skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules
  • German language skills are a plus but not required
