Event Team lead.
- Location: Hong Kong HK$500000 - HK$600000 per annum
Our client are a global B2B exhibitions and trade fair organiser across multiple industries. They are looking for an event team lead to oversee the Hong Kong team of 5 people. The role will entail building relationships with associations and businesses in Hong Kong and Greater China and mentoring and leading the team across sales, operations and back office.
Position Overview:
Our client are looking for an Event Team Lead to manage and coordinate daily event operations while contributing to business development within the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry. This role combines team leadership, project execution, and strategic coordination, with a strong emphasis on collaboration across regional offices, particularly with teams in Mainland China and Singapore. The ideal candidate is a skilled multi-tasker with a passion for events, client services, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Operations & Office Coordination
Lead the day-to-day operations of the Hong Kong event team to ensure smooth project delivery.
Oversee logistical planning and execution of events, ensuring compliance with industry and local standards.
Work closely with the team in Singapore to streamline administrative and operational processes.
Business Development & Client Engagement
Identify and develop new MICE business opportunities in Hong Kong and Greater China.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, government bodies, and industry associations.
Support the creation of proposals, presentations, and pitch materials.
Analyse market trends and client feedback to support strategic planning and business growth.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members across sales, admin and project roles.
Promote a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on service excellence.
Support performance reviews and training initiatives to develop staff capabilities.
Regional & Cross-Office Coordination
Coordinate closely with Mainland China offices to align on event logistics, project milestones, and business strategies.
Facilitate effective cross-cultural communication in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English to ensure seamless collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
Minimum 6 years of experience in event or office management, preferably within the MICE or hospitality industry.
Proven leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Proficient in CRM systems, event/project management tools, and Microsoft Office.
Multilingual ability in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
