Our client is a leading business information platform providing news, insights, data and solutions across a wide range of industries. They are looking for a Business Development Manager in Australia that will be focused on new business B2B sales within the consumer space (F&B, FMCG etc). The role would be based in their Sydney office focused on growing relationships through phone based and face to face sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with C-level executives to drive new business growth across APAC
  • Prospecting and meeting with potential clients
  • Researching and analysing industry trends and developments within the Consumer Goods space
  • Running demos of the products to prospects
  • Maintaining records on the CRM, tracking sales goals and reporting weekly results
  • Working with the Product Development team to maximise product offering
  • Keeping track of revenue targets and how to identify gaps in forecast and how to improve sales

Requirements:

  • 2-5+ years of sales experience within a solutions based role; B2B media, business information, SAAS or a subscriptions service would be most suitable
  • An interest in or experience within the FMCG and consumer space is preferred
  • Face to face sales experience
  • Hunter mentality is essential
  • Confident personality and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to hit KPIs
  • Objection handling experience
  • Excellent client facing and interpersonal skills
