Have you ever fancied yourself a YouTube star? Did you ever get into Tik Tok? Even if you completely don’t relate, it’s clear that video took off long ago and it just keeps growing.
But I’m not here to turn you into the next fame sensation, I’m here to tell you that, for your next job search, we will introduce you to employers via video.
What are Aspire doing to adapt to remote hiring / job searching?
At Aspire, we pride ourselves on meeting every single candidate that registers with our agency. Despite not being able to meet in person, that really hasn’t stopped.
We recognise that this wave of video will continue to grow and we’ve joined that wave to make sure you stand out from the rest of the candidates applying for the same job.
Our Talent Hub consultants are encouraging all our existing, and new, candidates to tell us about themselves on video.
How does it work?
Your digital profile is in progress!
Once you get in touch about finding a new role and catch up with one of our experienced consultants in your expertise, they’ll support you in building your own digital profile.
A few things to remember:
You can record from any device
It’s an innovative way to introduce yourself
Re-record your profile until you’re happy
Try to keep your video under 60-seconds as it is just an introduction
Reach out to your consultant if you need support
Keep eye contact focused on the camera rather than your screen
Dress appropriately and record your video in a room with minimum distractions.
Why is it important to create your video profile?
Not only is video a super innovative way to show off your skills and achievements, it speeds up the recruitment process.
How? I hear you ask…
We’ll send your complete digital profile to clients for the jobs that you agree to be put forward for. They get to watch something (which is incredibly more engaging than a cover letter), they can watch it when they have time, and they can share it with the right decision makers faster.
What happens next?
This is the new way that we help our clients select the right candidate for the job. Hiring managers are watching candidate’s digital profiles as we speak – so make sure you don’t lose out!
Employers will still see your CV alongside your video, so you won’t need to include everything you’ve done.
At the next stages of this new and improved digital process, your prospective employer has the option to ask all the best candidates some key questions to answer. Again, this will all be done on video and help you show off exactly why you’re the perfect person for the job.
Interview stages are most likely to be conducted live over video calls with your next employer. And don’t worry, they won’t forget how fantastic you are because they can refer back to your superb Digital Profile.
