Location: Hybrid (UK-based)
Salary: £70k + Benefits
We are partnering with a market-leading events and media organisation to hire a Conference & Awards Director to take ownership of a high-performing and commercially critical portfolio within the housing sector.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering industry-leading conferences, awards, and exhibitions that consistently exceed attendance, revenue, and stakeholder expectations.
You will lead the strategy, content, and commercial performance of a portfolio of large-scale events, ensuring high-quality delivery from concept through to execution.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategy & Content:
Develop compelling conference themes, agendas, and event strategies aligned with market demand and audience needs
Budget & Commercial Ownership:
Manage full P&L, set pricing strategies, and ensure all events meet revenue and profitability targets
Speaker & Stakeholder Management:
Identify and secure high-profile speakers, sponsors, and industry leaders while maintaining strong external relationships
Marketing & Sponsorship Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing and sales teams to drive attendance and maximise sponsorship and exhibitor revenue
Event Delivery & Operations:
Oversee end-to-end event execution, including logistics, production, and on-site delivery
As a senior member of the leadership team, you will:
Lead and develop a team of event professionals
Act as a key ambassador for the brand and its portfolio
Drive collaboration across multiple internal teams
Ensure consistently high standards across all events
We're looking for someone who combines creative vision with strong commercial acumen and a passion for delivering exceptional events.
Key requirements:
Proven experience leading event or conference teams (3+ years)
Strong commercial and budget management skills (P&L ownership)
Track record of delivering large-scale, high-quality events
Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
Strong project management capability across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Experience in housing, public sector, or a related industry is beneficial but not essential
